Anyone up for a "hike" before dinner? Why not? That sounds like fun. Little did I know I signed up for a 6-7 mile hike with about half of it being UP... think a very steep staircase of wet, muddy slippery rocks for stairs.. and the other 1/2 down, down, down.
And it was not a leisurely, take your time and "smell the roses", type of hike. We knocked it out in about 3 1/2 hours. That included a stop-off to leap off a rocky outcropping into the icy cold river. (No, not the moms. Yes, it was near the beginning of the hike to give the 5 kids a chance to air out)
Honestly, I REALLY enjoyed it, especially the sections where I was not struggling to breathe :/
Good company + great outdoors = priceless!
