You move to a new place and never know quite what to expect. I imagined quite a bit more snow. But after a waking up to a winter wonderland several mornings when we first arrived, there has been very little snow, just a lot of gray days, sometimes cold and other times not.

At first glance, it appears to be an evergreen, but it is actually a deciduous conifer as evidenced by the burnt orange needles layered on top of the white powder.
