Learning the Ropes

Seed and veggies for the chickens

Water and grain for Firefly

Right after snapping this pic, Asher decided to pet the horse. He stretched way up high and then suddenly reached in for a quick touch. Of course, Firefly startled, which scared Asher to death.

Boogie boarding

Once we buried one child, they all wanted a turn :)
(you can see cool Granddad and S. sitting just behind them)

The view, the breeze, the salty air, the waves crashing on shore...

Special Moments

Whether they are:

. playing a digital game

. building castles

. snacking on popcorn

It is always more fun to be doing it with someone else

What Makes a Picnic Great?

Cousins

Games: frisbee, soccer, badminton...

Fishing with friends

Inflatables

Water, sand, and beach toys, especially water guns :)

Canoeing

Yeah, it was a pretty great time with friends and family!

Salt Marsh Trail (and adjacent areas)

Bonaparte's Gull
(a rare sight this time of year)

Ring-billed Gull

 Sea Lavender

Black-headed Gull

Short-billed Dowitcher

Common Tern

I thought this lone carnation was a silk flower someone had "planted" alongside the trail, but closer inspection revealed that it was alive. How unexpected and beautiful!

Poppy in watercolor
(another single pop of color on the trail)

Black-bellied Plover chased by his shadow.

Greater Yellowlegs admiring his reflection.

I would love to live near this trail for a daily early morning or evening jaunt.

Patiently waiting for his "birders" to catch up.

A magnificent end to a perfectly lovely day!
