Salt Marsh Trail (and adjacent areas)

Bonaparte's Gull
(a rare sight this time of year)

Ring-billed Gull

 Sea Lavender

Black-headed Gull

Short-billed Dowitcher

Common Tern

I thought this lone carnation was a silk flower someone had "planted" alongside the trail, but closer inspection revealed that it was alive. How unexpected and beautiful!

Poppy in watercolor
(another single pop of color on the trail)

Black-bellied Plover chased by his shadow.

Greater Yellowlegs admiring his reflection.

I would love to live near this trail for a daily early morning or evening jaunt.

Patiently waiting for his "birders" to catch up.

A magnificent end to a perfectly lovely day!
