Big Tancook Island - birding expedition

 The sun was just rising... 7am.

Big Tankcook is the island in the distance to the right of the small center island.

Naked Eggs

SHELL LESS 

1. Soak the eggs in vinegar/apple cider vinegar to achieve this affect. 

Interestingly, they also bounce quite well at this stage (barely bounce with great care).

2. Use corn syrup to draw water out of the eggs (osmosis)

DEHYDRATED

3. Use water and food coloring to re-hydrate 

These eggs will be far larger than their original counterparts.

What is a science experiment without seeing the final result inside the egg?

As you can see, the yolk remained unchanged, while the liquid surrounding it absorbed a small amount of color. The membrane was completely dyed!

I would not suggest eating the colored eggs NOR using them as "color" bombs" ;)

Taking a Walk

I am amazed that every walk I take, there is always something different to see - a new bloom bursting with color, a migrating bird, cranberries, blueberries, cones...

I never noticed this in Kentucky. Of course, I didn't take too many walks; but if I had, was there a constant explosion of "new" I failed to observe?

Imagine! 

If our finite world contains such beauty and uniqueness, what will heaven be like?

 The "older" lot enjoyed a few games of tennis.

Meanwhile, Luke, Asher, and I visited the playground, and then headed back over to watch the big boys!

Very sleepy!
