Fishing for Mackerel

The Mackerel this year have been big and bountiful. Sure makes it fun for these avid fishermen!

This was a new experience for both of us. I just had to NOT think and go for it!

Pretty good for our first attempt.

We have been feeding the smaller fish and entrails to the gulls. It is pretty interesting. We discovered that if we set out the entire, intact fish, the gulls do not appear. But slice the fish open, cut off the heads, and magic happens.

Simplicity

I was trying to think of an interesting activity for the boys when I glanced out the window...perfect!

He wasn't quite sure "where" I was, but he kept calling to me.

Awards

Was a pleasant surprise to discover our son was the recipient of 2 awards this year:

. Good Sport Award - Senior High Male

. Subject Award for Grade 11 - Phys. Ed.

He loves sports (especially basketball) and has quite the drive to train regularly and to play his hardest!!!

We enjoyed talking, Wii, fishing, target practice, and an absolutely delicious dinner!

He has been wanting to hold a fish for awhile. Finally, he got his chance!

I find it quite funny, because none of the other boys would ever make this request.

Brave boy LOVED this swing. He swung high enough to strip leaves out of the tree... one of his older brothers attempted this, but failed, and the other wouldn't even take a turn.
