My Baby Sister - Lawrencetown Beach 1/2

The brave crew heading out.

They caught some decent waves.

Drew didn't last long, having failed to pack a much-needed half wetsuit.

Time to warm up a bit.

You know it really must be quite cold (water and even air temp)...

when...

3 members of your party are stretched out on the rocks
(notice that my sister is even holding a rock in each hand).

And the other 2 are soaking up the rays (primarily for warmth).

He Does Sit, Sometimes!

If you happen to catch him sitting, you can bet that he has just successfully climbed into or onto it. And you better be quick, because he is about to do something crazy, grab a child-inappropriate object, or poke his finger where it does not belong.

I was quick...
and you can see what a long-legged, lean little man he is!

But by the next pic, he was moving on!

Now I should add that by far, he is most likely to sit still when he is with a beloved brother :)
(and he LOVES watching his brothers play Minecraft)

Why, yes, I did :)
How else would you have proof that he does not sit still?
He climbed and then proceeded to "do something crazy"!

I heard him calling, "Momma, Momma, Momma" in an unusual, quiet voice and ran to investigate. Upon my arrival, he started bawling...
he had somehow managed to tilt the chair over backwards where thankfully the desk prevented it from falling to the floor. Notice him hanging on for dear life!!!

Luke's Art Project

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia hosts a program for young children.
They meet once a month for instruction/discussion, a tour of relevant sections of the gallery, and a hands-on project. We attended the fall session in 2012 and then took a break, but I think we will re-join this year!

I am not sure he really "got" the gist of what they were teaching that particular day, but he sure enjoyed painting this birdhouse :)

Luke's 6th birthday!

Cheese!!!

Yes, they are THAT excited.
Luke announced to us that he told Asher that he could open one of his presents for him :)

A fishing rod...

and...

Legos!!!
Of all our boys, he is by far the most skilled when it comes to following the directions to assemble these gadgets.

And just like that,
Luke is 6!!!!!!

A Family Day

AT THE BEACH!!!
When the temps start to climb and there is no relief to be found at home ~ no air-conditioning ~ this is truly the best place to be!

Asher tends to avoid the water after getting swept off his feet one too many times.
He loves playing in the sand ("ewwwwww"), followed by rinsing off in a bucket of fresh water which must be fetched and regularly replaced by his loving Momma :)

Luke also prefers the sand - digging holes and forming tunnels, making "tracks" with his cars - but will also spend time dashing up and down the beach and racing in and out of the surf.

Patrick, Sean, Drew, and especially Aidan prefer the ocean - boogie boarding or body surfing.
If they are on the beach, it is usually because they are COLD.

Let's Go Fly A Kite

With tuppence for paper and strings
You can have your own set of wings
With your feet on the ground
You're a bird in a flight
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite

Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!

When you send it flyin' up there
All at once you're lighter than air
You can dance on the breeze
Over 'ouses and trees
With your first 'olding tight
To the string of your kite

Aidan's 11th Birthday

First off,
flying their new kites at the park.

His choice for dinner was Swiss Chalet... complete with dessert and serenation :)

Back home for 2nd dessert - DQ cookie dough ice cream cake.

So many candles to light.

Making a wish ;)

Family parties really are special!

Lupinus, Lupine, Lupin

They come in a sea of colors.
Aidan quite enjoyed searching for and photographing the many different color combinations to be found near our house.

My "6 Boys" were ALL in the paper...
Twice in one week...
(Patrick and Asher on Monday and Sean, Drew, Aidan, and Luke - along with their friends - on Saturday)
