Good Ol' Times - Part 2/2

Queensland Beach

But as cold as it was, the kids still had a blast!

A game of "Don't Look"...
sitting in the shallows, waiting for a rogue wave to catch them by surprise and knock them down.

Jumping the waves.

Even swimming.

And, of course, boogie boarding :)

In an effort to warm up just a bit:

Dashing through the surf with his pull-along boat :)

And the 3 teenagers enjoyed tossing the "water bomb"s around for a bit.

"6 pics, 1 word"???

Don't peak... have you figured it out?

If you guessed "COLD", you are right :)

It was 59 fahrenheit. That doesn't even factor in the water temperatur... 50-55 degrees or colder.
Brrrrrrr!

Her expressions say it all!

Good Ol' Times - Part 1

Peggy's Cove

We parked in the upper lot and hiked all the way around to the lighthouse!

Sweet girl!

Where, oh where could he be?

Between, behind, and under a rock!

Peekaboo! We found you :)

Near the outer edge of the "hide and seek" perimeter, waiting to be found...

Success!!!

Bonus pic:

One VERY wet hike to the 3rd lake.

A Rainy Day Activity

"Gardening"

Maria and I took all of the indoor plants outside for a little TLC -
we removed dead leaves, pruned, and even re-potted a few.
I knew Luke was watching and watering per request, but I failed to explain the process to him;
specifically, the necessity of roots and that only the roots are buried below the surface of the soil.
Another lesson for another day.
Meanwhile, here he is, very proud of his accomplishment...
he found and picked this pansy, selected a container, and potted it...
ALL BY HIMSELF!

Center of Attention

I think Luke loves to have his picture taken - posing and requesting that I snap a shot on a regular basis.
I think he is also our only son who truly adores the spotlight.
Just the other night while sitting around the table...
can't remember what he did...
but everyone was looking at him...
his response, "Everyone's looking at me! Why is everyone looking at me?"
This was said with great glee as he glanced around the table to insure that EVERYONE was indeed looking at him.

The idea (for this pose) just popped in his head :)

Washing Floors

Bet you didn't know it could be so much fun!

We sure make a good team!

Flora and Fauna

Rhododendron canadense -
 native to Nova Scotia.
It is better known by its common name, Rhodora.
They are especially unusual in that they bloom before the leaves come out.
Right now, these large, purple-rose flowers are everywhere, making our hikes even more enjoyable!

A regular visitor to our yard!
Asher adores chasing him, in hopes that he might catch him.

Another regular visitor on the property.

He really is sort of cute.

What a Sleepy Boy!

This is what happens when you fall asleep in the shower - told you my boys LOVE the shower!
And he didn't even wake up when Patrick got him out.

All refreshed!

The Infamous Duck

(copied from FB)

ROFLOL... so yesterday Aidan and I saw a duck in a pond on the way home from Peggy's Cove (for the 2nd time, since the 1st time we discovered that DeeDee's just opened for the season... needed cash, drove home, got cash, and went back to Peggy's Cove for DeeDee's homemade ice cream... yes, it is that good. I would say the best I have ever tasted). Anyways, we asked Patrick to drop us off so we could take a few pics. Got some pretty good ones and headed home to search the internet in order to identify this NEW bird. Spent 1+hr. searching, but never could find this illusive duck. Well, once again this morning, we studied the picture trying to pinpoint any unique feature that might help up to identify it... only to finally realize, it is a fake duck... we will never find this duck online. hahahaha The joke is on us!

Honestly, how we ever thought this was a live specimen is beyond me???

Lots of Love

I assure you, he is not lacking for attention or love!

Aidan and Asher
These two really have a special relationship right now. Outside of  "Dadda" (his 1st word) and "Momma", "Aida" (Asher has been saying "Aida" for months, but only recently began trying to say his other brothers' names) is the one he calls for in the morning, the one he sits with during a movie, the one he yells for in the middle of the night if we refuse to get him out of his crib...

Luke and Asher
They are really starting to play together! Although, *if* Luke doesn't respond right away to Asher's demands, Asher is quick to pinch, smack, or bite :(

More "cheesy" faces for Aidan!
