Asher's 1st Birthday - more gifts and PLAY time

Poppity Pop Musical Dino

Success - he LOVES it!

Luke has quite enjoyed Asher's new toys too;)

Opening the gifts from Nana and Granddad.

Notice the bit of paper in his mouth...

Proof that Asher did at least "help" unwrap his gifts.

Assembling his new Winfun Walker Ride On Learning Train.

Ready, set,...

and off he goes.

Woohoo!!!

Sharing with Luke.

 Ahhhhhhh, so excited and happy:)

Happy 1st Birthday, baby boy!
We ALL love you so much and are so glad to have you in our lives!!!

Asher's 1st Birthday - presents and cake

This little birthday boy sure got a LOT of presents.

I think his big brothers were even more excited than he was to watch/help him open his gifts.

What is it?

Happy dance:)

All of my boys have loved balloons -
Asher too!!!

The "other" cake...

Drew had quite the time lighting the ONE candle: difficulties striking the match - kept breaking, almost burning him, going out... - finally, he got it lit only to blow out the candle out as he blew out the match:)

All ready

Happy Birthday to you...

Priceless!

Asher's 1st Birthday - SmAsH cAkE

Nowadays, this seems to the "in thing" for baby's 1st birthday...
it sounded like a fun idea, so I decided to give it a try.
The sun was setting, so the pictures aren't the best quality - sorry - but at least you get the idea.

Cake anyone?

Dig in!!!

Yummy!

Sweet boy:)

And what is a cake smash...
without sharing?

"airing"?

And...
smearing?

Asher's 1st Birthday - "the day of"

Just some pictures of our many adventures throughout the day.

Cakes - baked and cooling.

Playing in the kitchen at Mommy's feet.

Hey, good lookin'!

Does it taste good?

"Island Day"
(Bubbies last day of sailing for the summer)
We went to check on them, since we could see the island from the top of our hill.

If you look closely, you can either Sean or Drew wearing last year's "Miner's Mile" t-shirt:)

Waiting for supper.

I'm BACK!!!

Just in time to share a few BIG CHANGES around here:)

l. Asher's 1st birthday is tomorrow (just in case you didn't notice the ticker in the top right corner;) Where did the time go?

2. We are starting school in Sept. If you know me, you should be shocked. I am mostly ready and slowly, but surely getting more excited.

3. Sean and Drew will be attending a private Christian school.

I will be posting pics in the days to come of these events, as well as some from our summer!

Christmas Morning 2011 (1 day early too:)

After opening stockings around 6:45am, followed by a yummy breakfast a few hours later...
FINALLY time to open gifts:)

Check out that mohawk;)

Loving his new "cars".

The look on his face says it all - shock and complete delight!!!

Just what he wanted - walkie talkie watches.

What is it?
Flint and throwing knives

There is nothing else quite like watching your own children experience Christmas morning.
Enjoy!!!

Christmas Eve 2011 (a day early)

ONE DAY EARLY??? What?
My exact sentiments - initially.
But this year, with Christmas falling on Sunday, it worked out best for us celebrate everything 1 day early,
AND it was super awesome not having to wait 1 - more - day:)
Without further ado:

Photo op first - "Hurry up, Mommy!"

Following tradition, they each opened one gift from each other.
Just look at those excited, happy faces.

After they were all soundly tucked in bed,
The stockings were set out with care...

and the gifts all placed around the tree.

Luke's roller coaster was just too big,
so it was assembled in the tv room.

Charis and her bike

(yes, she really did slip right off the back of her seat and land right on her backside. She also tipped over at least twice - she went flying down our driveway, not really knowing how to stop or slow down to make a 90* turn:( What a brave girl to get right back up on her bike and try again!!!

Katie and Charis come to play

I think Asher loves his Aunt Katie:)

Charis and Asher

Charis and Luke
Always fun to have a cousin so close in age.

A beautiful little girl...

with a very pretty hairdo.

3 handsome men (mine;)

2 gorgeous gals (can I claim them too?)

Winter recital 2011

Once again, we enjoyed a variety of music performed by students, my student's student and even some piano students (not mine) -
piano solos, violin solos, and a violin duet.
Everyone did a fabulous job!!!
(this was Aidan's very 1st recital)
